FLUTE
DR. CLAUDIA ANDERSON:
Claudia received her DMA from the University of Iowa. She has performed all over the United States. Claudia has worked with students of all ages and levels and taught at colleges and universities across the country. In the summer, Dr. Anderson is on the faculty at Rocky Ridge Music Center in Colorado, where students age 10 to 15 study music.
KAARIN FASSE:
Kaarin graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with her Bachelors of Music Education degree. She has been a private piano teacher through the Tower School of Music at Wartburg since 2000. She specializes in Piano and Flute.
SARAH RICHARDS:
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from Iowa State University. She has taught privately since 1998 in Missouri, Ames and Des Moines. Sarah has performed as a soloist and ensamble player on numerous occasioans since high school and has served as the Student Conductor of the ISU Flute Ensamble.
ANNE STEIN:
Anne has sung with Des Moines Metro Opera, Operafestival di Roma, and the American Institute of Music Studies in Graz, Austria. As a flutist, Anne performs in recitals and is a jazz soloist. She performs as a piano soloist and is an accompanist specializing in vocal repertoire and opera. Anne teaches styles of classical, opera, jazz, blues, rock, and reggae.
CLARINET
TOSHIA CASTILLO:
Tashia graduated from Drake University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music Degree. She has worked in the facilities management at the Olmstead Center and currently works at Wells Fargo. She was the section leader in the Drake Symphony Band and has been playing the clarinet for 14 years and loves to teach students of all levels.
DON SIEBERNS:
Mr. Sieberns holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in music education and is a former orchestra teacher in the Des Moines school system. In college Mr. Sieberns was one of two clarinetists from the state of Kansas to be selected for the National Intercollegiate Band under the direction of Edwin Franko Goldman.
OBOE
AMY SAYLOR:
Amy received a BM with an emphasis in business administration from Drake University. Her teachers have included Jay Light and Carolyn Hove. Amy taught privately in the summers during her college years.
AIMEE KRUG:
Aimee received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Northern Iowa. She performed with the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony as second Oboe and English Horn. She also played in many of the UNI ensembles. Aimee is currently playing in the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble and has taught private oboe lessons since 1990.
BETH KINMAN:
Beth received a Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA. She has participated as an instructor at various jazz band camps and has accompanied various ensembles. She is currently the band director at Indianola. Her main instruments are piano and saxophone.
RON RIECKMANN:
Ron is a retired instrumental music instructor with 39 years of teaching experience in the public school system. He has many years of experience as a private teacher of saxophone, piano and organ. His saxophone students have been members of All-state bands and his piano and saxophone students have consistently received first place ratings at state music contests. He has frequently served as a saxophone clinician and honor band guest conductor. He has played organ, saxophone and piano for church since high school. Ron enjoys teaching students of all ages.
DAVID BOHL:
David graduated from Drake University in 2007 with a degree in Communications and a minor in music with a concentration on jazz studies. While at Drake, he was a member of the University's top Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble all four years. David was an award winning saxophonist in Drake's top jazz combo that participated in festivals throughout the midwest. David also toured Europe with the ensamble and continues to play locally.
