How To Play Button Accordion with CD How To Play Button Accordion with CD

Features:

How To Play Button Accordion by Henry Doktorski is unique, as every other button-method does not recognize the simple fact that the button-accordion is a transposing instrument and all its music can be written in the key of "C." There are button-accordions in practically every key including C, G, D, F & Bb. Because the one-row button-accordion is a transposing instrument, a player only needs to learn the fingering & notes for one scale: the C major scale. In order to play in another key, you would need another instrument tuned to that desired key. This greatly simplifies learning the instrument and allows the student to make rapid progress early on. Note reading is also not necessary to learn how to play the button-box. Indeed some of the greatest button-accordionists play only by ear. Like great jazz performers, this in no way detracts from their ability to create exciting and beautiful music. Nonetheless, a method book needs some kind of music notation. This book uses the solfege method; assigning the syllables do, re, mi, fa, sol, la and ti to the seven notes of the major scale. In 1965 the syllables do, re, mi, fa, sol, la and ti were immortalized in the hit movie musical The Sound of Music. However, modern music notation is also presented along with the solfege syllables for those students who want to learn it. How To Play Button Accordion published by Santorella Publications will explain in detail how to play the one-row Italian-style button-accordion. One row is perfectly suitable for playing most popular and folk melodies. Even students who own two or three-row instruments still need to learn by playing only one row. Although the left hand is not always used by button-box players, the left hand is taught in this method. It may be difficult to coordinate both hands together, but with persistent and patient practice, success will most assuredly come. Includes; Taps Assembly Reveille First Call Down in the Valley When the Saints Go Marching In Good Night, Ladies My Darling Clementine The Itsy Bitsy Spider Alouette London Bridge This Old Man Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star Frere Jacque Pop Goes the Weasel Row, Row, Row Your Boat On Top of Old Smoky Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes Camptown Races Come to the Sea (Vieni Sul Mar) Du, Du Liegst Mir Im Herzen Las Chiapanecas Minuet No. 1 Minuet No. 2 1-58560-662-6,649571001101

HOW TO PLAY 2 ROW BUTTON ACCORDION - Volume 3 HOW TO PLAY 2 ROW BUTTON ACCORDION - Volume 3

Features:

How to Play Diatonic Button-Accordion * Volume Three by Henry Doktorski teaches how to play the second row of buttons in the right-hand. This edition is a continuation of the lessons taught in volumes one & two. The one row button-box is more challenging to play due to the limitations of right-hand pitches & left-hand accompaniment. A button-box with two right-hand rows is much easier to play. Doktorski’s Volume Three contains assorted styles of music as well as classic pieces written by many great composers. The materials introduced in this edition are more complex than any of those found in the first two volumes. This added degree of complexity prohibits the use of the solfege manner of notation. Therefore, this edition actually teaches every student how to read standard musical notation. Learning to play any musical instrument can be challenging, but is extremely rewarding. Anyone with energy & desire can accomplish most anything, but add a disciplined commitment to practice and a whole new world of musical achievement & appreciation is standing by, just waiting for you! How To Play Button Accordion Vol Two How To Play Button Accordion Vol Two

Features:

In How to Play Diatonic Button Accordion Volume One, Henry Doktorski taught the basic techniques of playing the one-row Italian-style squeezebox: playing in first position, two bellow directions, left-hand accompaniment and playing in second position. We learned the pitches from low sol up to do more than an octave higher. We learned to play bass & chords together as well as separately, including alternating basses. We learned some solo passages in the left hand and played two dozen different pieces including bugle calls, nursery rhymes, folk tunes from many different nationalities including a classic song by Stephen Foster. In How to Play Diatonic Button-Accordion * Volume Two with CD, Henry Doktorski will teach you the third, fourth, fifth and sixth positions; essentially acquainting you with the entire range of the one-row button-accordion from low sol to high mi: a span of twenty different pitches, including two sharps or flats. With these additional notes you will be able to play more complex music, such as elaborate folk music from the United States, Scotland, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Israel. Volume Two published by Santorella Publications, also includes Patriotic tunes, beloved Christian hymns, Polkas and a few popular Christmas carols. Although the ability to read music is not required to study this method book, it would be helpful, if only to be able to readily discern when to change right hand positions. As the music becomes more complex, hand positions change more frequently. Contents includes: Pitches of the Right Hand Diagrams of Left-Hand & Right-Hand Buttons Playing in Third Position Old Folks at Home Tzena, Tzena Old MacDonald Had A Farm Little Brown Jug My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean The Happy Wanderer I Wish I Was In Dixie Irish Washerwoman Playing in Fourth Position Silent Night Yankee Doodle Amazing Grace She’ll Be Comin’ ‘Round the Mountain, When She Comes Play in Fifth & Sixth Position Jingle Bells House of the Rising Sun Trink, Trink Londonderry Air Too Fat Polka O Sole Mio Hava Nagila Napoletana Tarantella Pennsylvania Polka
